THE 'W' LIST

Bombolone Doughnuts

08.05.2026

A Slice of La Dolce Vita in Piccadilly.

Bombolone doesn't take bookings. It doesn't need to. This Italian-inspired doughnut bakery and café sits two minutes from Trafalgar Square — one of those places that feels like a discovery even though it's hiding in plain sight of the National Gallery.

The bakers start before sunrise, which means everything on the menu, every doughnut, every brioche sandwich, every espresso shot, was made the day you eat it. The dough has lift, the fillings aren't cloying, and the Moresso coffee more than pulls its weight. Energetic, friendly and pacey enough to handle a lunchtime rush without losing its charm.

The kind of place that works as a quick grab-and-go on a weekday or a linger-over-coffee stop at the weekend. If you're gallery-hopping, shopping or catching a show in the West End, this is the easy recommendation.

Walk in. No waiting. 21 Whitcomb Street

Monday to Friday 9am–7pm, Saturday to Sunday 10am–7pm.
