INSPIRATION

Only in Florida

@thetropicoolboat - is quite possibly the coolest thing we’ve seen in a long time! An ice cream truck that floats up to you in the middle of the sea, serving your favourite ice cream to keep you sweet, whilst beating the heat!

FOOD

Nothing says British summer quite like the chime of an ice cream van.

Nothing says British summer quite like the chime of an ice cream van.
@bigkidicecream is giving that nostalgia a serious glow-up. Their new soft-serve bar, Whippies, opens inside @sevendialsmkt on 8th August — the brand's own words say it best I think… your local Mr Whippy just got a whole lot sexier. Childhood classic, all grown up and the perfect pit stop on a night out in Covent Garden.

TRAVEL

Palm Beach's pink icon since 1947

@thecolonypalmbeach has been Palm Beach's pink icon since 1947, hosting Sinatra, JFK and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor along the way, though its famous strawberry-scoop hue only arrived in 2014, courtesy of decorator Carleton Varney. Today it's described as a "Pink Paradise" with palm-framed entrances, a jungle-print lounge with its own pagoda fireplace, and candy-striped golf carts with surfboards on the roof. It's a classic that we love…

CULTURE

The Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition

The Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition is back for its 258th year, running until 23rd August — great art, and blissfully air-conditioned. This year's theme, Interconnectedness, is coordinated by Ryan Gander OBE RA. A proper British summer institution.
